T. Young art - Fall Happenings (revised)
The countdown to the 2012 Fall St Paul Art Crawl is on and this is the 20th Anniversary of this popular St Paul art event! JAX Studio 204 will kick off the weekend with an opening reception from 6-10 pm on Friday, October 12. Photographer Tom Dunn will be exhibiting black and white images from his Prague Collection. AND special guest artist, Painter Spencer Silver will be joining JAX Studio 204 too. Spencer has a studio in the Casket Arts Bldg in NE Minneapolis and I'm excited to have him join us! There are over 24 other JAX Bldg. artists that will open their studio for Art Crawl as well as countless other art locations throughout Lowertown and St Paul, check out the St Paul Art Crawl website for other locations. Art Attack at the Northrup King in NE Minneapolis is an annual fall open studio and gallery crawl. The Northrup King Building, in the heart of the Northeast Minneapolis Arts District. The weekend-long event features over 200 artists working in painting and drawing, sculpture, photography, custom furniture, fiber arts, metal, ceramics, glass, hand-crafted and custom jewelry, mixed media, mosaics, textiles, and more. Art Attack is an exciting opportunity to gain admission to private studios and to buy original art direct from local, nationally and internationally known artists. Enjoy live music and live demonstrations. I will again be in NKB Studio 341 with sculptor Shannyn Joy Potter. I will be exhibiting my larger paintings in this space. Other News: It's done! My art book that is. T. Young A New Beginning, Paintings 2007-2010. As the title suggests, this is a compilation of paintings created during 2007 to 2010 - this time frame marks the beginning of my new journey as an abstract artist and the book was my way to capture that time in print. The book is 7.5 x 7.5 paperback and has 46 pages to include 22 color photos of paintings, several poems and bio. I will have some available for sale at JAX Studio 204 during Art Crawl and at NKB Studio 341 during Art Attack. Exciting news, there is an addition! I am opening a new studio (in addition to JAX Studio 204)! I've out grown my home studio and have been in the planning stages to expand. Out of the blue a space at the Northrup King Building in NE Minneapolis came available. This building is home to over 200 artists in the heart of the NE Minneapolis Art's District. Studio 463 is fabulous with ample room to paint AND to hang my finished art!
